Beyond Businesses

What would you or your family member do in the event of a sudden, unexpected major weather event (i.e. an earthquake or tornado) and you were driving in your car or shopping at a mall?

Some schools have emergency action plans to care for the students while they are in the care and custody of the school district but what happens when they leave school at the end of the day? Where do they go? Do they know what to do?

While at work your business, whether it be located in a multi-story office building or a small single story family business, you may periodically conduct fire drills or evacuation drills but what do you do when you are driving, walking or using public transportation at the end of the work day?

After a long hard week at work mom and dad decide to get a sitter or leave the eldest child in charge while they go out for dinner. Does the sitter know what to do if an emergency were to happen? What could that emergency be?

Establishing Emergency Action Plans and understanding what to do if….is very important.  Understanding what to do will not only offer the much needed protection you, your family, your friends, your business associates need to know but in doing so you are educating and reminding everyone of their need to be prepared whether you are at home, at work, at school or out in the town.

With a little bit of training EVERYONE will likely gain that added confidence, show improved moral and will feel more comfortable in taking action to protect not only themselves but the lives of others, knowing they have had some training.
